Where to Eat and Drink During a Wilmington Bachelorette Weekend

Food is half of a bachelorette weekend, and in Wilmington it's the easy half. We pulled most of this list from Check What's Good, a local recommendations site, and sorted it by time of day.

One planning note: a lot of the bars below are in Carolina Beach rather than downtown. Decide who's driving, or line up rides, before the night starts.

Brunch and coffee

  • BlueBerry's GrillWrightsville Beach

    Buttermilk pancakes, omelets, and burgers made with local ingredients. A good stop on the way to the sand.

  • Port City JavaDowntown and all over

    The local coffee chain, roasting in Wilmington since 1995, with shops all over town. For the TV fans: it appeared in Dawson's Creek and was the filming location for Karen's Café in One Tree Hill.

  • Skyline CafeDowntown

    Opened downtown in June 2025 by the owners of Brooklyn Café. Espresso, homemade baked goods, and a locally sourced lunch, handy when you're between downtown plans.

Dinner

If you're a big group eating on a Friday or Saturday, call ahead.

  • Bonita Latin FusionDowntown

    Latin American dishes from Mexico down through South America: tacos, fajitas, ceviche. It gets loud, in a good way.

  • Shuckin' Shack Oyster BarDowntown

    Local, sustainably sourced oysters, the sunset over the Cape Fear River, and live music most Fridays and Saturdays. This downtown location opened in 2012 and became the model for the rest of the franchise.

  • Dockside RestaurantWrightsville Beach

    A casual marina restaurant with mostly seafood, a full bar, and water views. If you've chartered a boat, you can arrive by water.

  • Blue Surf CaféMidtown

    Seafood and American food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a bright room. Useful when nobody can agree on what to eat.

Drinks: beer gardens, wine bars, and a batting cage

Downtown is small enough to walk between bars. The Carolina Beach places deserve a night of their own.

  • Alcove Beer GardenCargo District

    A beer garden built from upcycled shipping containers, with a big outdoor space and food from Beat St and Salita Pizza, so you can stay all evening.

  • Neapolitan Wine Bar & Tasting RoomCarolina Beach

    A family-owned shop with more than 500 wines, weekly tastings, and a deck out back. Our pick for a quieter night.

  • Hurricane Alley'sCarolina Beach

    Sit on the top deck for the ocean view over the Carolina Beach boardwalk. Beach drinks, and live music some nights.

  • Good Hops BrewingCarolina Beach

    A woman-owned, dog-friendly small-batch brewery with a big beer garden and an 18-hole disc golf course. Session ales, IPAs, and stouts.

  • Bats and BrewsDowntown

    Eight pitching machines (40 to 70 mph, baseball or softball), a beer garden, and yard games. Bring it out if your group is competitive.

  • Crush & GrindCarolina Beach

    A coffee shop by day and a wine bar at night. A calm place to end the evening.

You won't get to all of these in one weekend. Pick a brunch, a dinner, and one bar a night, and leave room for whatever your group stumbles into.
